On Thursday, May 12th, several Madison County schools participated in the “Conversation Toward a Brighter Future” discussion and High School Fellows Reception at the Mannie Jackson Center For The Humanities (MJCFH) in Edwardsville.
The area high school students discussed projects they had proposed in an earlier summit at the Center. The projects were to be in line with the four pillars of the MJCFH: “Respect, Dignity, Understanding and Forgiveness.”
The participating schools were each awarded a $3000.00 fellowship to continue with their program. The schools awarded fellows include: Alton HS, Edwardsville HS, Center for Alternative Education (Troy, IL), East Alton – Wood River HS, Civic Memorial HS, Collinsville HS, Granite City HS, Madison HS and Triad HS.
