Columbus Elementary School’s “Anti-bullying” Activity with Fredbird

On Friday, March 16th, Fredbird visited Columbus Elementary School (Edwardsville School District.)  Each day, we begin with a morning meeting from 9:00-9:15 a.m.  Mrs. Matarelli, the principal, opened the meeting and today’s emphasis was the importance of team work.  Students were involved in the activity and provided key characteristics of how to be a positive team player.  Respect, unselfish, and hard work were the three main ideas that the students suggested.  The overall experience was very positive.  The Columbus teachers and staff will continue to incorporate character education to help our students understand the importance of bullying “Stops with Me”.
